A selection of studies behind the finished painting, worked in mixed media; conté, ink, oil, acrylic, wax stick, pastel, and digital sketch. The set-up held both a bird and a deer. The bird was followed into two studies, then set aside for the deer, though it may return in future work. What's kept here includes that unresolved thread, not just the one that reached the painting.
